My first stamp, entirely made with GIMP.

I wanted to express my hate about watermarks, or the best to destroy a work.

Well, it's only about huges watermarks like deviantART's.
But I still think watermarks are, unfortunately, the best way to protect a work, but it's to the detriment of the work itself of course.

I agree 100%. They ruin so much art out there. When I spoke my mind on my profile about watermarks, a lot of watermark lovers decided to bash on my opinion. It's funny though because they closed off their mind to fit their views. They won't accept a foreign opinion.

I noticed you put very transparent watermarks. Well, this stamp applies to huge watermarks who spoil the entire art. Your watermark is perfectly fine but perhaps not explicit enough

I think the best way to comback this is to just sign your name on your deviation; name and date you drew it, but a small watermark at least. I put small faint watermarks on my deviatons.

Yep. I don't put watermarks at all, I think my works are not good enough and anyway, who would to steam them :p

They are hideous DX I prefer neat little artist's signatures to the clunky watermarks.

It's a horrible shame that they're sometimes needed because talentless idiots will steal it otherwise.. :(

Yeah, this is actually the first mean, but a big watermark can destroy a work, because you can't enjoy it properly :(

Little watermarks, such as text, like =skysealer's, is fine, and enough to protect the work, without destroy the whole work.

yeah, true. But some people may not know how to make the own water mark and have to ues DA ones instead.

Yeah, it's sad because the dA watermark really sucks.
But it exists a lot of tutorials about how to make a efficient watermark who don't destroy the whole art.

Once upon a time, I could have sworn dA watermarks WERE small. They apparently weren't enough.
